Please take a moment to locate and familiarise yourself with the Club First Aid Kit and Fire Extinguisher in the cabin.

  1. Only paid-up Members of M.M.F.C. are permitted to fly and avail of the Club facilities, except where there is an invitational event or a M.A.C.I. insured flyer is invited and accompanied by a full-Member of M.M.F.C.
  2. All flyers must hold current M.A.C.I. Membership with insurance and at all times endeavour to operate within the M.A.C.I. Code of Safe Practice.
  3. For 2.4GHz systems, flyers are required to familiarise themselves with the operation of their particular radio system and at all times watch for any irregularities between their system and others operating at the same time. For 35 MHz users, there is a traditional “Peg-off” system permanently installed which should be strictly adhered to.
  4. All models must be started in the Pitt area and, where possible, the Club model restraints should be used along with a helper. Generally, planes should not be started in the shed.
  5. Please take note of the green mesh fence in front of the Pitts. Planes (jets) can be taxied out from the Pitts and are permitted to commence taxying to take-off once clear of this fence. Helicopters and Drones must be carried to this boundary fence and can be hovered/ flown once beyond the fence.
  6. On completion of a flight, planes (jets) helicopters and drones are not permitted to fly, hover or taxi back past the green mesh fence, in the direction of the Pitts / shed. Best practice would be to kill the engine(s) / motor(s) in the vicinity of the fence. If the flyer intends to carry out some engine tuning immediately after flight, it is acceptable to carefully guide the model back to the Lake-end of the Pitts and restrain the model.
  7. All flyers must obey the operational flight lines. The main flight line is the shed-side front edge of the main runway and the secondary flight line is at a right angle to the main flight line on the lake end. There is never a need to over-fly the Pitts, Club Buildings or Vehicle Park. Any flyer who does so will be asked to land and explain their actions. Repeat offences will lead to a flyer being asked to stay grounded for the day.
  8. Flyers should stand beside one-another on the flight line in a manner that facilitates easy communication. They should always have their back to the Pitts / vehicle-park and should never be in a situation where the model is flying in the space between them and the Pitts.
  9. In case of emergency always attempt to safely ditch the model to protect other Members, visiting public and Club buildings / vehicles.
  10. Always be vigilant to the presence of persons and vehicular / bicycle traffic using the access road. No low fly-bys are permitted unless a spotter is accompanying the flyer and has indicated that it is safe to do so.
  11. Planes, helicopters and drones should only be flown together when there is clear communication and agreement between all parties. In general, there is plenty of time for each to wait its turn to avoid any problems.
  12. Large Model Certificates are required as per M.A.C.I. regulations and are strictly enforced at M.M.F.C.  A photo-copy of the registration card is required to be presented or posted through the Club cabin door. Models in excess of 25Kg have special requirements and a copy of the consent letter from the I.A.A. is also required.

Breaking the Flying Rules, blatant or otherwise will be looked upon very seriously by the Committee and Club Members. If your adherence to the Flying Rules is corrected or commented upon by someone at the Club, Please re-consider the Flying Rules and don’t be insulted.                             Exercise common sense on all safety matters
